I’m Kimberly Brown, an emergency physician, blogger, national speaker and best-selling author. I encourage people like you to live their best lives outside of the doors of the emergency room.
I believe that everyone deserves healthcare.
I believe that everyone deserves to understand what is going on with their health.
I believe that everyone has a passion or a dream that they need to fulfill in order to truly impact the world.
A long time ago (not that long ago really), I was born in the great state of Wisconsin and moved to Nashville to go pre-med at Fisk University. I ended up doing well at Fisk, but my dream of going to medical school did not begin right away. After struggling with the MCAT, I decided to take a detour in becoming a doctor and get a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Florida.
While studying abroad in Ecuador, I learned about emergency medicine. For so long, I wanted to be an OB/GYN, but the hustle, bustle and excitement of Accident and Casualty enticed me. I knew from then on.
I was going to be an ER doctor.
I got into medical school, in a non-traditional way. Ross University School of Medicine accepted me into the class of 2014 starting in January 2011. I packed my life up, and moved to the Nature Island, Dominica.
I graduated in 2014 and became a part of the first class of emergency medicine trained physicians in Memphis, TN. I graduated in 2018, and my life has been a whirlwind ever since!
